Lois
January 12, 1918 - March 29, 2016
Lois Key Dickson Pyle was born on January 12, 1918 in Galveston, Texas, to Tom Key, Sr. and Doris Hicks Key Gage, and passed away March 29, 2016, in Vivian, LA. She was a resident of Mooringsport, LA, for 51 years. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mooringsport, LA.
She was feisty, she was strong and she was bold, but she demonstrated love to others by the way she loved her family and the down trodden. You never had to wonder what she was thinking. A wife, a spit fire, a patriarch, a southern belle, an advocate, a lady. Always a mother to everyone. She would not be afraid to tell you exactly what you needed to hear whether you wanted to hear it or not! We will all miss her. But, we have all been so blessed to have her as our Midget/Granny.
Preceding Lois in death were her parents; her sister Celeste Key, and her brothers Tom Key and Tandy Key. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 years, Morgan Pyle; her six children, Billy Dickson and wife Rosemary of El Dorado, Arkansas; Ann Caskey Ryals and husband J. B. of Mooringsport; Susan Hewitt of Shreveport; James Pyle of Mooringsport; Virginia Waller and husband Kevin of Three Creeks, Arkansas; and Celeste Ware and husband Rush of Haynesville. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring the life of Granny Pyle as pallbearers will be her grandsons John Ware, David Caskey, Mike Caskey, Jeff Caskey, Chris Caskey, Shane Langston and John Owens.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Pierre Blanchard of Shreveport; Dr. Steve Taylor of Vivian; Mike Chellette of Regional Hospice; and the staff of Vivian Healthcare Nursing Home
