March 15, 1976 - March 12, 2023
William Gene Terry, 46, of Mooringsport, LA passed away March 12, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday; March 18, 2023 at Mooringsport Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Kevin Smith. Burial will follow at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA.
Gene was born March 15, 1976 in Shreveport, LA to Bedford “Buddy” and Bea Terry. He lived in Mooringsport most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and listening to country music. Gene loved any and all social events, and he loved being around family and friends. He enjoyed helping people. He had a passion for his work in the Oil Field. Gene loved sports, especially the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He loved his family and would do anything for them, especially his mother.
Preceding him in death was his father Bedford “Buddy” Terry. He is survived by his mother Bea Terry of Mooringsport, his daughter Lilly Fowkes of Mooringsport, the love of his life Cara Helfrick, his sister Tara Dupree (John) of Shreveport, LA, his 2 nieces, Adrian Terry (Seth), and Megan Patterson (Joe), his nephew Adam Terry (Hannah), he was a great-uncle to 8 children, and he was loved by many friends.
Pallbearers will be Troy Reeves, Mousey Jackson, Keith Wayne Williams, Adam Terry, Brent Cornwell, and Caleb Helfrick. Honorary pallbearers are Michael “Big Mike” Williams, Joe Patterson, James Walker, and Sammy Ferguson.
