Funeral services for Rev. Charles Lane Davis, age 75, will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Dubach.
Officiating the service will be Dr. Clint Davis, Rev. Barry Joyner, and Rev. Todd Free with burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.
Bro. Charles was born on April 12, 1936 in Dubach, LA and passed away on October 8, 2011 in Ruston, LA.
Bro. Davis was a graduate of Louisiana College. He was a pastor at many churches throughout the state including: Midway Baptist Church in Sarepta, LA; Peniel Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA; First Baptist Church in Crowville, LA; Downsville Baptist Church in Downsville, LA; and was currently at Evergreen Baptist Church in Bernice, LA. His love was for his God, his family, and the many people he pastored through the years.
He is survived by his wife: Henrie Dowdy Davis of Dubach, LA; his children: Dr. Clint Davis and wife, Cindy of Mt. Pleasant, TX; Cheryl Smiley and husband, Curtis of Calhoun, LA; Roy Davis and wife, Jill of West Monroe, LA; and Kristi Dustin and husband, Glenn of Spring Hill, TN; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Blake Davis, Jacob Davis, Joshua Davis, and Garrett Dustin. Also serving will be Paul Mills and John Mills.
