Mrs. Elsie McAllister, 82, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020, after a brief illness. A private family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Forest Park West. Officiating will be Father Joe Martina of Saint Pius X Catholic Church.
Mrs. McAllister was a native of Mab, Louisiana, born on October 31, 1937, and she resided in Mooringsport, Louisiana, for many years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. “Mac” McAllister, Sr.
Elsie is survived by her daughters, Judith Custer and husband, Don, and Cheryl Barfield; and son, David E. McAllister, Jr., and wife, Shannon. In addition to the children, she is survived by her grandchildren, Bobby Miller and wife, Caroline, Kristin Richardson and husband, Ian, Heather Barfield, Rebecca Barfield, Kelsey Kolandjian and husband, Christophe, and Eric McAllister; and three great-grandchildren, Joseph Miller and Julia Miller, and Liam Richardson. Elsie also is survived by her brother, Don Edwards and wife, Debra.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
