Mr Alton Asa Allen, age 86 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away Friday, June 29, 2018.

Mr Allen was born Monday, December 14, 1931 in Winnfield, Louisiana to the union of D C Allen and Mary Weir Allen Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frankie Allen Dickerson; brother,D C Allen, Jr and nephew, Jonathan Allen.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country as a paratrooper during the Korean War. He attended LSU and was a member of the boxing team and later went on to win the Golden Gloves Championship. He had a photography business in Hawaii for many years and was also a tour guide in Los Angeles, California before retiring home to Winnfield.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sister-in-law, Elsie D Allen, Winnfield; brother-in-la Bill Dickerson, Farmington, Missouri; niece, Barbie Grantadams (Herman), Winnfield; niece Dianne Dickerson, Farmington, Missouri; nephew Bill Dickerson (Julie), Prairie Village, Kansas; great nieces and nephews, Ryan Porter(Nicole), Kiah Porter(Holly), Valerie Jordan(Brent), Jenna Porter, Chad Allen, Alison Sheets(Wayne), Shannon Davis(Mike), Sally Dickerson, and Blake Dickerson(Erin); and numerous great great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 2, 2018, at Southern Funeral Home, 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Winnfield City Cemetery with Ryan Porter officiating.
