On December 22, 1936 Barbara Ann Batiste was born to Lucien and Veronica Batiste in Scott, Louisiana. At the age of seventeen Barbara met and married the love of her life John Jessie Andrus. This union produced six beautiful children, Paula, Jeanette, Larry, Micheal, Pearl, and Terry. Barbara loved to work. She began at the age of nine, doing house work and babysitting for the neighbors. As an adult, she worked for Piccadilly for over 20 years. After leaving Piccadilly she went on to become head cook at Lafitte's Restaurant as well as a custodian for Professional Outsource. Aside from working, Barbara loved spending time with family and cooking them dinner every Sunday. Often found with her “little drink” in hand, Barbara was full of life and fun. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. Barbara leaves precious memories with her daughters Paula Williams and Jeanette Andrus, sons Larry Andrus and Micheal (Patricia) Andrus. 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Helen (Robert) Andrus, godchildren Thomas Guidry and Kenneth Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents Lucien and Veronica Batiste, daughter Pearl Andrus and son Terry Andrus, sister Anna Lee Francis, grand daughter Torianda Broussard and great-granddaughter Avianna Bourda.”
