Lafayette – Private Graveside Services will be held for Elsie Mae Clay Sam, 83, who died Wednesday April 8, 2020 at her residence.
Services will be conducted by Fr. Clifton Labbe’, SVD of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
She is survived by eleven children: Alton Jr., Rose Clifton, Carl, Michael (Trenessa) and Christopher (Kristie) Sam, all of Lafayette, LA, Patrick Sam of New Orleans, LA, Morris Sam of Montgomery, AL, Edward (Michelle) of Breaux Bridge, LA, Jennifer Jacquet and Jonather (Shawana) Sam of Los Angeles, CA; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; nine siblings: Lena Delahoussaye, Joseph Clay, Doris Benoit (Clarence), Glen Rochon (Lennis), Dennis Clay (Elvina) and John Clay (Joann), all of Lafayette, LA, Eva Dell Meillieon (Jimmy) of Plaquemine, LA and Geraldine Kelly of Brusly, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elias Clay and Alvophina William Clay and former husband, Alton Sam, Sr.
