Saint Martinville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Sterling Joseph Narcisse, 92, who passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Tuesday.
Rev. Augustinus Seran SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Sterling was fun loving and enjoyed traveling, socializing, smoking cigars and wearing his cowboy hat. His favorite sport was baseball and he loved taking care of his yard. He was employed by Sammy Broussard Trucking for many years and later became self employed. He was a member of Goodwill Society and was a Eucharistic Minister at Notre Dame Church.
He is survived by his three daughters, Stella Narcisse (Wilfred) Boayve, Veronica Narcisse (Lawrence) Williams, Jocelyn Narcisse (Hilery, Jr.) Louviere; his ten grandchildren; and his eighteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Cecelia Hypolite Narcisse; his wife, Gertie Mae Narcisse; his son, Ferdinand Berard; his sisters, Theresa (Ma-ree) Mitchell and Lucille (Tynu) Randall his brothers, Elphege Narcisse, Wilfred Narcisse, Henry Narcisse, and Herman Narcisse.
Pallbearers will be Donald Maneaux, Hilery Louiviere III, Wilfred Boayve Jr., Kendrick Clay Sr., Kaymen Williams, Barry Williams, and Paul Boayve.
