Funeral services for Ruth Gordon Shelley will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Doyline Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Crider and Rev. Paul Pearson officiating. Interment will follow at Doyline Cemetery in Doyline, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to service time.

Ruth was born August 4, 1932 in Castor, Louisiana and entered into rest January 2, 2021 in Doyline, Louisiana. She was a member of First Baptist Church Doyline. Ruth was a retired school bus driver with Webster Parish School System and a retired beautician.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Shelley; son Don Erick (Rick) Shelley; parents, Otha J. and Annie Warren Gordon; six brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Jack Randy Shelley and wife Jo of McIntyre; daughter, Rebecca Shelley of Doyline, and eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter, and sisters-in-law Faye Gordon and Lois Shelley.

Pallbearers will be Shane Harris, Casey Harris, A.J. Shelley, Josh Davis, Danny Watson, and Everett Watson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bubba Daniels and John Thompson.

The family extends a special thanks to their mothers’ housekeeper and friend, Lois Cook; caregivers, Janet Loud, Virginia Blalock, Tia Bradley, Anita Feaster, and Lindsey Ambrosio; Dr. Koticha, Angela Chanler, Dr. Ray Smith, Primary Care Jennifer Angelo, Stat and Prime Star Home Health.
