Funeral services for Rick Shelley will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Michael Sanders and Rev. Paul Pearson officiating. Interment will follow at Doyline Cemetery in Doyline, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Rick was born on December 31, 1963 and entered the Heaven’s gates on November 30, 2018. He was a life-long resident of Doyline. He served the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office for 20 years and loved this job because he could help the people who could not help themselves. Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman, and passed this passion to his children and grandchildren who were his heart. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Rick made many friends throughout his life, had a contagious sense of humor and was always singing, telling stories, and joking with all.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Shelley, parents, Jack and Ruth Shelley, son, A.J. Shelley (Shannon) daughter Erica Shelley, step-sons, Weylin Beavers and Travis Beavers, brother, Randy Shelley, sister, Rebecca Shelley Sherrard (Gary), grandchildren, Hailey, Abigail, Carleigh, Kayson, and Bubba, step-grandchildren, seven and his dog “Cujo.”

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Reno, Edd McDowell, Shane Harris, Mike Farnam, Casey Harris, John Thompson, Steve Shelley, and Travis Owens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Cox, Dr. Gladden Willis, Mike Montgomery, and Jim Brown.
