He enlisted March 5, 1862 at Homer, Louisiana. On June 18, 1862, his name appeared on a list of those sick at the CSA General Hospital At Charlottesville, Virginia with Febris Typhoid. On July 4, 1863, he was captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. July 17 - 24, 1863, his name was listed as Rebels Sick and Wounded Prisoners of War at DeCamp Hospital, Davids Island, New York Harbor. On May 23, 1865, his name appeared on records as a prisoner in the military prison at Camp Chase, Ohio.
