Beverly Joy Mitchell, 58, passed away at her home in the Stratford Lake, TX area. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday May 26, 2020 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Rocky Maddox. There will be a time of visitation from 12 pm until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery.

Beverly was born August 11, 1961 in Shreveport, LA, where she lived most of her life, however she lived in the Stratford Lake, TX area for the past 2 years and also lived in Wyoming for a time which she enjoyed dearly. Beverly was a Baptist by faith. She graduated from Huntington High School in Shreveport in 1979. She has always had a dear love for animals, especially her boxer Layla. She was a wonderful and loving mother, daughter, and sister. Beverly was such a friendly person who never met a stranger and loved to talk. She loved all children and they loved her. She was a member of the APA, American Poolplayers Association and even went to Las Vegas for a competition. Beverly lived with Chron’s Disease for several years, but she fought it with everything that was in her. She was the strongest person you could ever know.

Beverly is survived by her father George Dorman of Stratford Lake, her mother Brenda Dorman Arnold and husband Lynn of Stratford Lake (Formerly of Shreveport), her 2 sons; Clinton Mitchell and fiancé Kasie Philen of Shreveport and Brandon Dorman and Patricia Fry of Burleson, TX, her sister Delana Hayes and husband Don of Shreveport, her brother Johnny Woodard of Stratford Lake, her step-sister Sandy Teel of Dallas, TX, and her step-brother Jason Arnold of Keithville, LA, her 3 granddaughters Chloe, Madison, and October, and nephews, Brad, Shane, and Dylan.

Pallbearers will be Brad, Shane, Dylan, Clinton, Brandon, and Jason.
