BOGALUSA - Gilbert C. Sumrall, 25, a resident of Highway 436, Box 40, Franklinton, died Saturday, June 29th, at 5:30 a.m. in an automobile accident near Lake Charles, Louisiana.
He was a member of the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church and an employee of the Irby Construction Company in Franklinton.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Sumrall, Jr. of Franklinton; a brother, Sidney Sumrall of Lake Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Donna Givens and Jessica Sumrall, both of Franklinton; his grandfather,
Bill Caves of Bogalusa; two nieces, two nephews, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The body lay in state at the Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton until the time for funeral services, which were held Monday, July 1st, at 11 a.m. at
the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Glynn Erwin and Elder Willie J. Passman officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Keith Sumrall, Dewey Sumrall, Glen Sumrall, Floyd Caves, Jim Sumrall, and Raymond Sumrall. Honorary pallbearers were Jessie Sumrall, Robin Prines, and Gary Sumrall.
