Husband of Josephine Rae Menish Pierce
R. J. Pierce, age 81, passed away on June 8, 2009 at his residence in Bogalusa, LA.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He is survived by 1 daughter, Susan Pierce Thomas of Thomas, LA;
1 Son, Jeff (Debbie) Pierce of Bogalusa, LA;
1 Sister, Mae Jones;
8 Grandchildren, Niki Pierce (Timmy) Davis, Kristian (Derrick) Williams, Heidi (Jason) Thomas, Tori Thomas, Katie Thomas, Ashley St. Romain, Haley St. Romain and Tyler Thomas;
7 Great-Grandchildren, Zack, Brooke, D. J., Devin, Brianna, Jacob and Camrin;
Special Nieces and Nephews, Ralph Pierce, Mary Lee McKenzie and Patricia Wilson;
Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by His Wife, Josephine M. "Fina Rae" Pierce; His Parents, George Sederick Pierce and Nancy Geneva Tullos Pierce; His Daughter, Pamela Pierce St.Romain; His Sisters and Brothers, Velma Singley, Alma Ivey, Leonard Pierce, James Pierce, Jessie Pierce, George Pierce, Melvin Pierce and Hilton Pierce.
It was his wish that his eight grandchildren were his pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home at 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.
Vistation will continue at 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Mizell to officiate and Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10, 2009.
