WILLIE JAY SPEARS, AGE 73
And a resident of Thomas died at noon Wednesday December 24, 2008 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Mr. Spears was a member of Thomas First Baptist Church, a retired dairyman, and served as Constable of Ward 8 having been elected 20 years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and father-in-law and a dear friend to those who knew him. Survived by:

Wife of 52 years: Billie Sue Terrell Spears of Thomas

3 Daughters and Sons-in-law: Donna and Randy Adams Kim and Darryl Cooper Heidi and Randy Woodward all of Thomas

6 Grandchildren: Trenton and Coby Adams, Brett and Brittney Cooper, and Chance and Caden Woodward

2 Brothers: Leslie, Jr. and Cynthia Spears of Sheridan Willard Spears of Thomas

2 Sisters and a Brother-in-law: Rita and Louis Breland, Marylou Bufkin all of Thomas

Mother-in-law: Lendorse Terrell of Pine

An Aunt: Elizabeth Creel of Thomas

A Special Friend: Leroy Nielson of Thomas

Also Survived by many more brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, other family and friends

He was preceded in death by his son Danny Raymond Spears, parents Leslie "Buss" and Frances Creel Spears, 2 brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Nell Spears and Landers and Bobbie Spears, brother-in-law Clyde Terrell and father-in-law William Terrell

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday December 26th from 5 pm until 10 pm and after 9 am on Saturday. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Clyde Cooper, Rev. Denny Brumfield, Eld. Richard Magee and Rev. Bobby Ray Spears officiating. Burial will follow in the Nobles Cemetery.
