October 23, 1896 - October 14, 1918
On September 20, 1918, he departed New Jersey en route to Brest, France. While in Brest he became ill from disease and died. He was interred in Brest. In June 1920, his body was moved to Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson, Louisiana, where it was re-interred on July 18, 1920. Prior to his assignment in Brest, France he was stationed at Jackson Barracks SRD Company 2 Coastal Artillery Corps. (source: Honorstates.org)
