Killed In Action
He was in the Battle of the Meuse-Argonne, France. Phase I of the battle started on September 26, 1918, through October 4, 1918. He died on October 1, 1918, of wounds received during battle.
He was buried in the Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Meuse. On July 26, 1921, he was disinterred and his remains were sent to Grayson, Louisiana, arriving on September 24, 1921.
(Note: His date of birth was obtained from his World War I draft registration card. His burial information was obtained from the US Army's burial record. His US Army Service/Serial Number is 1598323.)
