Mr. Martin DeWitt Manning, Jr. was the only child born to Martin (Sr) and Ida (Welch) Manning born September 30, 1929.
He was the youngest of his seven siblings; half-sisters: Doris (Manning) Price, Maxine (Pierce) Bennett, Eilyne (Pierce) Wigginton and Lynetta (Pierce) Bell, half-brothers: Wendell Pierce, Woodrow Pierce, and Harvell Pierce.
