BOGALUSA - Margaret Ruth Byrd, age 78, died Saturday, Nov. 11 in Villa Feliciana Medical Complex in Jackson, La. A native of Bogalusa, she was a member of Ben's Ford Miss-ionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by four brothers, Lamar (Goldie) Byrd of Baton Rouge, Alton (Doris) Byrd of Bogalusa, James (Sylvia) Byrd of McComb, Miss. and Billy Byrd of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Laura Byrd of Richmond, Calif., Mary Catherine Byrd and Winnie Ruth Byrd, both of Bogalusa; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tillman J. and Belle Byrd; and brothers Marvin, Melvin and Clifford Byrd.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Brown-McGehee Funeral Home. Visitation continued today at 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Jimmy Byrd, Clifford "Butch" Byrd and Edward Byrd will be in charge of the service, with burial following in the McGehee Cemetery.
