Wife of Robert James Toney
FRANCES AMELIA STRINGFIELD TONEY, AGE 82
and a resident of Baton Rouge died at 1:30 am Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Haven Assisted Living Center. She was a native and former longtime resident of Franklinton before moving to be with her family in Baton Rouge in 2007. Mrs. Toney was previously an active member of Centenary Methodist Church as a member of the adult choir and director of the youth choir. She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds in her yard and also loved the many family vacations through the years.
Mrs. Toney had retired from Louisiana State Division of Administration in 1997 where she was the director for the Office of State Uniform Payroll in Baton Rouge. Prior to working for the state she worked at Washington Bank in Franklinton from 1953-1970 during which time she graduated from the School of Banking of the South at LSU in Baton Rouge, class of 1966. She also worked at Parish National Bank in Franklinton for a short time prior to her career with the state.

2 Sons and a Daughter in law: Patrick A. Toney and Cynthia Toney of Ocean Springs, MS,
Terry L. Toney of Baton Rouge
2 Grandchildren and Spouses: Patrick A. "Drew" Toney, Jr. and Amanda Toney of Baton Rouge
Kristie Toney Black and Adam Black of Bakersfield, CA
3 Great-grandchildren
Brother: David H. Stringfield, Jr. of Bogalusa
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Toney, her parents David H. Stringfield, Sr. and Elma Jenkins Stringfield, a brother William R. Stringfield, and four sisters Dorothy Bazar, Eloise Lobdell, Betty Wilcombe, Margaret Banner.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday April 29th from 10 am until the funeral service at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Bush officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ellis Cemetery.
