TONEY, ROBERT JAMES
A resident of Franklinton, he died at 3:40 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2001, at his residence at age 78. He was a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Highways and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Frances Stringfield Toney of Franklinton; two sons, Patrick Andrew Toney and Terry Lynn Toney, both of Baton Rouge; a brother, Fred Andrew Toney Jr. of Franklinton; two sisters, Eula Grace Hardy of Virginia and Marilyn Vessier of Franklinton; and two grandchildren, Patrick Andrew Toney Jr. and Kristie Marie Toney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Andrew and Mary Alexander Toney. Visitation at Crain Funeral Home Inc. chapel, Franklinton, from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, officiated by the Rev. Lyndle Bullard. Burial in Ellis Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of St. Tammany, 1202 S. Tyler St., Covington LA 70433.
