February 28, 1934 - January 17, 2002
Minnie Lorell Corkern Sharp, 67, a native and lifelong resident of Bogalusa died yesterday at Columbia/Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She was a member of Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Charles R. "Rusty" Sharp and his wife, Diane of Bogalusa; a daughter, Fran S. Perry and her husband, Leon of Franklinton; a brother, James D. Corkern of Bogalusa; five grandchildren, Amanda and Jeremy Perry of Franklinton, Charles R. "Dusty" Sharp of Bogalusa, Tamara Magee Sharp of Bogalusa and Michelle Sharp of Baton Rouge; a great-grandchild, Chaz A. Sharp of Bogalusa; her former husband and good friend, Charles L. Sharp and his wife, Jo Ann of Bogalusa; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Mark Sharp; her parents, Herbert and Rosa Mae Corkern; a brother, Herbert Corkern Jr.; and a sister, Shirley Green.
Visitation will be today at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. and will continue after 11 a.m. tomorrow until time of service at 1 p.m. The Rev. Stephen Teal and Rev. Harold Gaddy will officiate.
Interment will follow in Bonner Creek Cemetery.
