William Earl Penton, died Wednesday, May 18, 1994, at his residence in Franklinton . He was 82, a native and resident of Franklinton . He was a retired mechanic and a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting was held at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton , 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. until religious services 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by Dr. Keith Tipton, the Rev. Frank Richardson and the Rev. J.B. Rockco. Burial in Springhill Magee Cemetery near Franklinton . Survived by three daughters, Edna Earl Hedgepeth, Tucson, Ariz., DixieNell Vincent, Carthage, Miss., and Nancy Skawski, Tucson, Ariz.; three sons, Steve Penton, Tucson, Ariz., Tim Penton, Germany, and Russell Penton, Zachary; four sisters, Joyce Voth, Tina Elkins, Nelda Norton, and Carol Lard, all of Baton Rouge; a brother, Hardy J. "Buddy" Penton, Centreville, Miss.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline, Evelyn and Lucille; a daughter, Peggy Watts; a son, Victor Harold Penton; and a brother, Martin Penton. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, Franklinton .
