married January 5, 1881 in Hosston, Louisiana. She was the daughter of George Washington Hale and Elizabeth Carter Golihar Hale. Their children were: George Washington Hawkins, Jerry B. Hawkins, James M. Hawkins, Jr., a stillborn infant son, Ida E. Hawkins, Ada Hawkins and Agnes Hawkins. All of their sons and Ida are buried near them in Stevens Cemetery. Their youngest two daughters are buried with their husbands in the Vivian, Louisiana City Cemetery. Of their seven children, only Jerry, Ada and Agnes did not predecease their parents.
