He died of tuberculosis at age 26 in Hosston, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. She died 70 years later in the nursing home in Vivian, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, never having remarried. They are buried in the hilltop cemetery called the Stevenes Cemetery among many of their relatives. This is largely a family cemetery which is located off the Wynn School Road between Highways 1 and 71 near Mira, Louisian
