Betty Rosalind McGrew Simmons, age 74, went home to Jesus the evening of January 24, 2012. Rosalind passed away at her home in Lewisville, Texas, with her family and beloved caregivers by her side. Rosalind was born in Mountain Pine, Arkansas, and raised in Springhill, Louisiana, by her loving parents, Taylor Lee and Pauline McGrew. She was married to Thomas Wilson Simmons for 47 years. Tom and Rosalind moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, in 1963. They raised two daughters, Jacqueline and Joni Lee. Rosalind earned her Master's Degree in Education from Eastern New Mexico University and taught English at Hobbs High School for ten years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and her parents, Taylor and Pauline McGrew. After her husband's death in 2002, Rosalind moved to Coppell, Texas. She is survived by her two daughters, Jacqueline Simmons and husband Scott Fulton, and Joni Lee Whitehead and husband Allen. She had one grandchild, Taylor Lee Whitehead. A memorial service for Rosalind will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 202, at 2:00 p.m. at the Restland Coppell Chapel, 400 S. Freeport Parkway, Coppell, Texas, 75019.
