LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for David Joseph Guidry, 57, who died on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "The Lord's Prayer," "Psalm 23," "Amazing Grace," "Be Not Afraid," and "The Old Rugged Cross."
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lisa Claremont Guidry; two daughters, Nicole Guidry DeVillier and her husband, Ryan, and Josie Rae Guidry; one son, Jay SanCraint; three grandchildren, Ava, Ethan, and Mia DeVillier; and two brothers, Steven and Mark Guidry.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Warren Joseph and Betty Fournet Guidry.
David Joseph Guidry was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, and was a "Master of the Duck Call." David was a big football fan and enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers. He also was addicted to funny YouTube Videos. David will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Mark Guidry, Jay SanCraint, Buck Segura, Ray Istre, Frank Breaux, Jerry Bustamante, and Donnie Geautreaux.
