Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Larry L. Guidry, 65, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.Reverend Robie Robichaux, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services, con-celebrated by Rev. Harold J. Trahan, Pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, assisted by Deacon Julian Judice. Giftbearers will be Chris Guidry and Beth Conner. Lectors will be Beth Conner and Margaret "Wezie" LeBlanc. Eucharistic ministers will be Bobby Conner and Carol Duplechin. Dave Domingue, soloist, accompanied by Deborah Duhon, organist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "The Old Rugged Cross", "How Great Thou Art", "Be Not Afraid" and "You Are Near" for the services. Survivors include his beloved wife of forty-two years, Beverly Guidry; one daughter, Beth Conner and her husband Bobby of Baton Rouge; one son, Chris Guidry and his wife, Brenda of Baton Rouge; mother, Anita Guidry of Carencro; one brother, Lynn Guidry and his wife, Gayle of Carencro; two grandchildren, Lauren and Dale Guidry; and two step grandchildren, Christopher and Kelsey Lorentz.He was preceded in death by his father, Rhule Guidry.A native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Larry Guidry graduated from Carencro High School in 1959, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architecture from USL in 1964, and proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve. Mr. Guidry was President of Guidry Beazley Architects from 1987 - 2005 retiring in June of 2007 and was a member of American Institute of Architects. He served on the Lafayette Parish Planning Commission from 1980 -1985. He was a charter member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Lafayette South. Mr. Guidry enjoyed fishing, golf and growing orchids. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.Pallbearers will be Terry Terrebone, Randy LeBlanc, Terry Gaudet, Barry Duplechin, Charles Beazley and Bobby Conner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lynn Guidry, David Perkins and his fellow Rotarians.A Scripture Wake Service will be on Thursday at 6:30 PM at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services at Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Special thanks from the family to Dr. Michael Cain and Staff, Dr. Oliver Sartor and the oncology department at Lafayette General Medical Center.The family would like donations made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503.V
