N. J. "Goat" McCain

N. J. "Goat" McCain, 78, a resident of Franklinton, died at 8:45 am Monday Dec. 14, at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington.

He was a retired dispatches with Washington-St. Tammany Electric Co-op and a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Knight McCain of Franklinton; two sons, Mickey J. McCain of Tylertown and Jeffery McCain of Belmont, MS; a step-daughter, Deborah
Dykes of Franklinton; two step-sons, David Penton of Mt. Hermon and Jerry Penton of Franklinton; two sisters, Inez Thomas of Franklinton and Lonie Thomas of Bogalusa, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Burie Toney McCain.

Visitation was at the Crain Funeral Home from 5 pm until 10 pm Tuesday and after 8 am Wednesday.

Funeral services were held at 11 am Wednesday, Dec. 16th in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Pete William and Rev. Harry Goynes officiating.

Interment was in the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Richard Dykes, Patrick Dykes, Craig Penton, Jeremy Penton, Skipper Crawford, and Keith Thomas.
