At her home on Border Drive, Bogalusa, Mrs. W.H. Sullivan, wife of Hon. W.H. Sullivan, died Friday morning and her body was laid to rest Sunday afternoon in the Bogalusa cemetery.

WIFE OF MAYOR AND GREAT SOUTHERN CHIEF NOTED FOR HER CHARITABLE WORK
BOGALUSA, LA., JULY 11
Mrs. W. H. Sullivan, wife of W. H. Sullivan, mayor of Bogalusa and vice-president and manager of the Great Southern Lumber Company, died at her home tonight at 9:20 o'clock. Burial will take place here Sunday, with funeral services at the home and at the grave conducted by Rev. A. Inman Townsley, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, of this place. Her husband, her son, Sergeant Frank Sullivan, of Camp Beauregard; her daughter, Miss Elizabeth Sullivan, who is attending school in New York; her mother, Mrs. Caulkins, who resides here, and her sister, Mrs. J. F. Peters of Chicago, survive.

Mrs. Sullivan underwent an operation about three months ago and appeared to have recovered her health. She went on a visit to relatives in the East, returning home three weeks ago. Illness necessitated another operation last Sunday and she appeared to rally, but this condition was not to continue.
Coming here twelve years ago with her family when the city of Bogalusa was founded. Mrs. Sullivan became active in welfare and charitable work, and for many years past has been a leader in aiding the needy and helping to improve conditions throughout the section. She was president of the Young Woman's Christian Association, head of the Mothers' Honor Commission and active in the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

More than 7000 persons paid their last tribute of respect at the funeral services of Mrs. Elizabeth F. Sullivan, wife of Mayor W. H. Sullivan, her Sunday, a short service being held at the home and another at the grave. The funeral procession was more than 1 ½ mile in length and 107 automobiles were in the procession. Five trucks were require to carry the floral offerings, which consisted of 130 set pieces alone. The services at the grave consisted of a song by the quartet, eulogy by Rev. A. Inman Townsley, prayer by Rev. J. E. Brakefield and Rev. W. P. Chalmers. Following the services, every grave in the cemetery was decorated with one of the designs.
