FRANKLINTON James Cater "J.C." Welch, died Sunday in Riverside Medical Center, at the age of 80. He was the owner/operator of Welch's Service Station for many years and a member Trinity Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Auline Simmons Welch of Franklinton; two brothers, Richard Welch of Slidell and Jessie Hubert Welch of Buras; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today at Crain Funeral Home from 6 to 10 p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. The Rev. Stanley Statham will officiate and burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery.

FRANKLINTON Auline Simmons Welch, 88, a resident of Franklinton, died at 3:30 a.m. yesterday in Franklinton. She was the widow of JC Welch and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Rickey and Jackie Nobles, John and Cheryle Nobles, all of Summit, MS, and Rene' and Kirk Potts of Kentwood; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Rita Anderson of Franklinton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Carl Nobles; her parents, Walter O. and Grace Stephenson; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral Home today from 5-8 p.m. and tomorrow at Trinity Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Stan Statham officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Cemetery.
