Elsie Sandifer Welch

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS- Funeral arrangements have been completed for Elsie Sandifer Welch, 75, a resident of Bay St. Louis and native of Washington Parish, LA, who died Wednesday in Bay St. Louis.
Visitation will be held at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis today from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m. and tomorrow at Centenary United Methodist Church in Franklinton, LA, from 11 a.m. until a prayer service funeral at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Morris Cemetery in Franklinton.
A Methodist, she was long-time resident of Bay St. Louis. She was employed by the City of Waveland as a pier ranger for 13 years.
She is survived by two sons, Jack and Freddie Welch, both of Bay St. Louis; four daughters, Ann Schmidt of Spring Hill, FL, Bobbie Blandchard of Gretna, LA, Donna Peniciaro of Waveland, and Cindi Thigpen of Picayune; two brothers, D.W. Sandifer of Foxworth and Javan Sandifer of Bogalusa, LA; one sister, Helen Collins of Covington, LA; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Welch Sr.; two children; her parents, Fred and Nellie Blackwell Sandifer; and one sister, June Butler.
