Son of Abner Bickham and Nancy Corinne Blackwell Corkern
Asa Abner Corkern, 76, a resident of Route 4, Franklinton, in the Bonner Creek community, died Tuesday, January 22nd, at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans.
He was a retired social worker with the state hospital in Mandeville.
He is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Patsy Ann McNeese of Franklinton; a brother, Hubert Corkern of Covington; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Corkern Jacobsen of Franklinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The body lay in state at the Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton until the time for funeral services, which were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 24th, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Joyner
officiating.
Interment was in the Bonner Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Sticker, Theron Corkern, Shelby Jones, William Kates, Benny McNeese and Dale Cole.
