Mrs. Jessie Wascom Stewart, age 69, of Douglasville, GA passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Jessie was born April 30, 1951 in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the late William and Inez Wascom. Jessie was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and a retired practice manager from WellStar Health System. Jessie was a woman of great faith and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Jessie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald Eugene Stewart, of Douglasville, Georgia; three daughters, Jennifer Stewart of Villa Rica, Georgia, Melissa Stewart of Douglasville, Georgia, and Amanda Stewart (Michael) Yorcis, of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Juliette, and Luke; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Francis Stewart; sister-in-law Tina Stewart; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per Jessie’s wishes, she will be buried in Mooringsport, Louisiana. Due to the current circumstances, her burial will be a private family gathering. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Douglasville, Georgia, when the gathering restrictions are lifted.
