Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jay Cadenhead, age 93, will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Haynesville, LA. Interment will follow in Old Town Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA. Visitation will be Thursday at 12:00 PM until time of service. Mrs. Cadenhead was born May 27, 1917 to Frank A and Dollye Summitt Slaughter in Seep Springs, TX and passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 in Colleyville, TX. She had been a resident of Colleyville, TX since 1978 and a former resident of Haynesville, LA. Mrs. Cadenhead was of the Methodist faith and a homemaker. She is survived by her three sons, William "Bill" Cadenhead and wife, Nita of Colleyville, TX, John Pennington Cadenhead and wife, Marsha of Slaughter, LA and Thomas Alan Cadenhead and wife, Kathy of Valley View, TX. Mrs. Cadenhead was preceded in death by her husband, John P "Jake" Cadenhead and a daughter, Maryanne Finch. Pallbearers will be Jack Campbell, Jack Shreffler, Bobby Darby, Jeff Smith, Michael Dorrity and James Finch.
