M. C. Bryan, age 70, of Spearsville, La., died Sunday afternoon in a Ruston, La. hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Union Parish, La., October 1, 1895, the son of Wilburn and Betty Gathright Bryan. He was a member of the Canaan Baptist Church of Spearsville. He was also a member of the Thomas Jefferson Masonic Lodge F. and A. M. 113 of Spearsville. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie McKnight Bryan; two sons, Gerald Bryan of Monroe, La.; and Larry Bryan of Tallulah, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Clois Patterson of Spearsville; one brother, Joe E. Bryan of Spearsville; six granddaughters, and three great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held at Canaan Baptist CHurch Monday at 4 p.m. with Rev. Roy Gardner and Rev. Lester Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Services are under the direction of Pratt's Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be nephews of the deceased. (The El Dorado Times - August 22, 1966)
