John Tom Harrison, 84, of Spearsville, La., died early Tuesday morning in a Farmerville, La., nursing home following a lengthy illness. A retired farmer of Spearsville, Mr. Harrison was a native of Laran, La. He was a member and deacon of Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gladys Harrison, Spearsville; three sons, J. T. Harrison, Jr., El Dorado, and Ray Harrison and W. C. Harrison, both of Spearsville; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Aboid Lebeff officiating. Burial will be in Laran Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville. (El Dorado Times - December 31, 1969)
