Albert Black, 90, of the Loran Community died Sunday at a Bernice hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a retired farmer and a life long resident of Union Parish. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Black of Loran; one son, C. C. Black of Loran; three daughters, Mrs. Joe Turbeville of Farmerville, La., Mrs. Ellis Smith of Loran and Mrs. Jake Legate, Jr., of Little Rock; two brothers, Leslie and Joe Black, both of Junction City; 21 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Billy Orten officiating. Burial will follow in the Loran Cemetery under the direction of Spears Funeral Home in Farmerville. The grandsons will serve as the pallbearers. (El Dorado Times - January 20, 1969)
