January 4, 1934 - December 15, 1969
Mrs. Thelma Lee Watson Dowell, 35, a former resident of El Dorado, died Monday in Los Angeles, Calif. She was born in Union Parish, La. Jan. 4, 1934, the daughter of Jimmie and Ozella Phillip Watson. She is survived by a son, Timothy Dowell, Los Angeles, Calif.; her step-father and mother, the Rev. and Mrs. G. C. Cook, both of El Dorado; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Lee Spears, El Dorado, Mrs. Viola Linzy, Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Lucille Moore, Detroit, Mich.; five brothers, T. G. Watson, Terry Watson, Charlie Watson, Jimmie Watson, Jr., and McArthur Watson, all of Los Angeles. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Union Parish, La., with the Rev. J. W. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary. The family will be at the home of the Rev. G. C. Cook, 401 S. Florence St. (El Dorado Times - December 20, 1969)
