Mrs. Sophie Jennings, age 88, died at Schumpert Medical Center, Wednesday, November 2, 1988, after a brief illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home at 3631 Southern Ave., Thursday, November 3, 1988, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Standford Parnell of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Jennings was a native of Opelousas, La. and a resident of Shreveport for sixty years. She was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one daughter, Helen Jennings Sproull of Shreveport, one son, Herbert Jennings of Opelousas, La., three grandchildren, Susan Sproull Ewing, Herbert R. Jennings, Linda Jennings, two great-grandchildren, Herbert Jason Jennings, and Richard A. Jennings, all of Shreveport. Pallbearers will be Herbert R. Jennings, David Ewing, George Sproull, Jr. and Neal Baremore. (The Times - November 3, 1988 - Shreveport, La.)
