Hamp Smead Pyle, 74, of 508 N. Parkway St., died Monday night at a local hospital following a short illness. He was the son of Tom and Amy Davis Pyle. He was affiliated with the Central Church of the Nazarene of El Dorado. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie L. Pyle of El Dorado; a daughter Mrs. Ola Hardin of El Dorado; two granddaughters, Jedonia Hardin and LeAnn Hardin, both of El Dorado; four brothers, Robert Pyle and Marion Pyle both of El Dorado, McCray Pyle of San Francisco, Calif., and Minor Pyle of Kilgore, Tex. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Pratt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald R. Baxter officiating. Interment will be in the Birds Chapel Cemetery in Truxno, La. Pallbearers will be Charles Nale, J. O. Nale, Fenner Nale, Ira Reynolds, Robert Pyle, Jr. and Rudy Papan. The family will be at the Hardin home, 3405 E. Bishop St. (El Dorado Times - May 14, 1968)
