Lois Tynes Sones was born September 13, 1925.She died April 16, 2009. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love for gardening and nature was passed on to her by her father. She shared the bounty of her garden with many friends, neighbors, and relatives. She had a loving and caring spirit for all around her. Mrs Sones was a charter member of Briarwood Baptist Church, where she served as Senior Adult Women's Sunday School class for numerous years. When she was no longer able to teach she remained a member of the Senior Adult Class.
Survived by 2 Daughters and 3 Sons in law, Jan and Lamar Wood; Nancy and Mark Corkern; Don Miley; Son and Daughter in law Jason and Michelle Sones; Grandchildren Mandy and Chris Miley, Josh Sumrall, Jennifer Harris and Jessica Corkern; Great-grandchildren Dylan Miley, Sierra Miley, Caitlin Sones, Brady Sones, Kiersten Harris
Mrs Sones was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow F Sones, daughter Becky Miley, parents Charles L and Louella Painter Sones, sister Elgie Gremillion, and an infant brother.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday April 17, 2009 from 5 pm until 9 pm and after 1 pm on Saturday. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eric Williams, Rev Jerry Kennedy and Dr Wayne Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Tynes Cemetery near Stateline.
