Funeral services for Mrs. Angelena "Gelena" Delacerda Cates will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Pat Carrington officiating. Interment will be at Bayou Blue Cemetery, Provencal, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mrs. Cates, age 81, of Robeline, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was a native of Chopin. She was a homemaker. Her life was devoted to taking care of her family and pets.
She is preceded in death by her husband, W.T. "Bill" Cates; parents, Gus and Susan Delacerda; three brothers, Johnny Delacerda, Curtis Delacerda and Leo Delacerda.
She is survived by one son, Roger Dale Cates of Otis; one daughter, Susan Mancil and husband Bobby of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Anthony Mancil and wife Mary, Angela Wray and husband David, Brandon Mancil and wife Tameka; four great grandchildren.
