Gladys Cowe, 80, of Mooringsport, LA passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009 at the Village Glen in Shreveport, LA. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Monday, May 11 in the Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Kevin Taylor. Burial will follow at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at 9:00 before the service.
Mrs. Cowe was born on March 30, 1929 in Murfreesboro, KY to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lacefield. She later moved to Illinois, and then to Louisiana in 2002. She was a hard worker and devoted herself to raising her children. Mrs. Cowe attended Mooringsport Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cowe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Cowe and her son Danny Joe Reid.
Mrs. Cowe is survived by four children, John David Reid and wife Brenda of Kentucky, Robert C. Reid and wife Mary of Illinois, Diana Reid Short and husband Brian of Mooringsport, LA and Anthony D. Reid and wife Zoraida of Illinois. She was also the proud grandmother of 9, and great grandmother of 6 with one more on the way.
