Shreveport, LA - Patsy Simmons Kent passed away peacefully October 4, 2014. Patsy was born in Overton, Texas in 1935 but spent most of her life in Vivian and Shreveport, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Simmons of Vivian; and her husband, Reuben Kent. Patsy is survived by her children and grandchildren: sons, Bobby Pettitt, Jr. and children, Paul, Charles and Richard; Jerry Pettitt and wife, Shirley and son, Jake; and daughter, Suzan Sugar and daughters, Mackensley and Kaitie; sisters: Midgie Butler and husband, D.L., Sue Scott and husband, Gene, Royce Hall and husband, John; and many nieces and nephews.
Patsy will be remembered by family and friends for her great sense of humor, her wit that kept us laughing, and her generosity that helped so many.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her long- time friend and caregiver, Roberta "Pee Wee" Daniel.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014, 10:00 AM at Forest Park Cemetery West at the Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society or to Holy Angels.
