John Wallace Lloyd, age 64, died March 23, 2017, in Shreveport, Louisiana. John was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 3, 1952. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Nelle Barlow Lloyd; his mother-in-law, Janet Aimer Barlow, of Shreveport, Louisiana; his brother-in-law, David Andrew Barlow, and his wife, Sarah Norwood Barlow, of Boulder, Colorado; and his neices and nephews, David Andrew Barlow, Jr., Sarah Emily "Sadie" Barlow, Benjamin Aimer Barlow and Elizabeth Ansley Barlow. He is also survived by his aunt, Della James Watson, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and his first cousins, Linda Stotler, Jody Morris, Jeff Watson, Walt Watson, Diana Barber, Larry Watson, Michael Watson, Brenda Hartpence, Becky Lucas, Brad Watson, Beverly Dodridge, Lynda Brigham, Kerry Beach, Vicki Beach-Korff and Chester Paul Beach, and their families. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Panda and Rosie.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Livingston Lloyd, Jr., his mother, Eloise Antoinette "Toni" Watson, and his first cousin, Carrie Watson Lane. He is also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ray Allan Barlow, and his brother-in-law, R. Allan Barlow, Jr.
John attended Jesuit High School and graduated from Bossier High School. He attended Oklahoma State University and earned bachelor's degrees from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and Louisiana State University in Shreveport. John worked for nearly 40 years in various capacities in the real estate business, most recently owning John Lloyd Real Estate Services where he worked as a real estate appraiser.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark's Cathedral in Shreveport, Louisiana beginning at 11 am on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, The Very Rev. Alston B. Johnson officiating. A graveside service at Forest Park Cemetery will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark's Cathedral or to the charity of one's choice.
