Shreveport, LA – Mrs. Martha Jo Boose, 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service following at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Mel Campbell.
Mrs. Boose was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA. Martha Jo retired from Schumpert Medical Center as a Nurse Tech after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Boose was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William “Bill” Boose; sons, Michael and Ronald Boose; parents, Glaydis Knippers VanVeckhoven and “Matt” VanVeckhoven; sisters, Mildred VanVeckhoven, Eula Lee VanVeckhoven, Paula Newman, Susan Brand, Sylvia Dehart and Patricia Ann VanVeckhoven. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Davis and Melissa Rains; four sons, Patrick Boose and wife, Lucy, Donnie Boose and wife, Lisa, Bill Boose and Thomas Boose; twelve grandchildren, Shawn Boose, Hal and Brad Wright, Amy Rodgers, Trey Davis, Ashley and Matthew Boose, Leslie Duck, Tanner and Casey Boose and Brandon and Jason Boose; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Matthews; brother, Harvey VanVeckhoven; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all of the loving care and support from Garden Park Nursing Home.
