March 31, 1959 - December 5, 2015

Linda Bossier Hickey, 56 of Mooringsport, LA, passed away on a beautiful Saturday morning, December 5, 2015, after a long battle with cancer surrounded by loved ones in her home. She was a fighter that refused to give up, even on her darkest days, until her last breath. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, she will be laid to rest in Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery located in Mooringsport, LA. There also will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Tuesday the 8th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA.

“Baby” Linda was born March 31, 1959 in Stanley, LA to Leslie Earl and Rita Thomas Bossier. She lived in the Mooringsport area since 1998 after moving from Bossier City. She worshiped at Ferry Lake Baptist Church and had an unshakable faith for her love in Christ that was to be admired.

She was a very hard worker and provider as a waitress for many years. Linda had a huge, serving heart. She loved life and showed this with her infectious laughter. This matriarch had a great impact on her family as well as the world around her.
Linda loved to spoil her grandkids, especially during CHRISTMAS, her favorite time of the year. Her favorite place to be, besides shopping for purses, was at the fishing camp where she could relax and eat all the fish Robert could catch and fry. The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful were her guilty pleasures. Everyone knew not to interrupt her between 11:00am -1:00pm! She was a woman that definitely spoke her mind and took pride in her appearance. Her dogs were very special to her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gaynell Norwood and her brother Jerry Don Bossier. She is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years Robert Hickey, her son Tony Heggins Jr. and wife Jade of Ft. Meade, MD, her daughter Rita Ann DeFatta and husband Christopher of Keithville, LA, her sister Frankie Underwood of Stonewall, LA, her 9 grandchildren called her Memaw; Noah, Dayton, Everest, Coyle, Megan, Caleb, Brody, Trenton, and Austin.

The family would like to offer SPECIAL THANKS to caring, and wonderful staff of St. Joseph Hospice, Jamie White, and other staff members that went above the call of duty to make Linda Hickey comfortable.
