Celebration of Life for Mrs. Ira "Ethelle" Swanner, 94, of West Monroe, LA, will be 10:00am Saturday, April 16, 2016, in the Feazel Chapel of First Baptist Church of West Monroe with Phillip Bedenbender and Woods Watson officiating. Music being led by Lonnie Stewart. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe.
Mrs. Swanner was born November 12, 1921 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2016. She was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe. She was a retired retail clothing store owner. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ila Poda; beloved husband, Louis Tyson Swanner; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Bobby Swanner and wife Barbara of West Monroe, Gary Swanner and wife Jynda of Loveland, Colorado; sister, Dearlene Wingart of Texas and sister in-law, Wanda Loe of Texas; three grandchildren, Michael, Kenneth and Brent; six step grandchildren, Dana, Eric, Misty, Jessica, Brock and Nikki; five great-grandsons, Ethan, Adain, Blake, Brady and Elijah; and numerous step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Pallbearers will be Michael Swanner, Kenneth Swanner, Brent Swanner, Jerry Poulin, Chris Tyler and Bobby Rutledge.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2016, at in the Feazel Chapel of First Baptist Church of West Monroe.
