Betty Jean Cole Hoffman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Monday, October 13, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center at the age of 84. She was born December 8, 1929 in Camden, AR to Claude and Lillan Risher Cole.

Betty was a loving caregiver to family and friends, a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with those she loved. She was active in her daughter's school, leading the PTO and fundraising. Mrs. Hoffman made both her daughter's clothes when they were little girls. She was an avid reader and music lover. Betty enjoyed feeding hummingbirds and growing fragrant sweet-olive trees. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes, attending bible study and drinking coffee with friends at her nursing home.

Mrs. Hoffman is preceded in death by her husband, Henry K. Hoffman; and sisters, Kitty Edmonds and Ginny Kruger.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharan Byrd and husband Cliff of Naples, FL, and Ginger Hoffman of Lakewood, CO; granddaughter, Kristy Rea and husband Kevin of Naples, FL; grandson, Brandon Jordan of Pueblo, CO; sister, Billie Ann Spears of Waxahachie, TX; nieces, Cynthia Moravetz of West Monroe, LA, Elizabeth Spears of Vancouver, WA, Victoria Johnson of Waxahachie, TX, and Roxanne Schlemmer of Manassas, VA; and also, 4 great-grandsons, Tyler and Peyton Rea of Naples, FL, and Logan and Landon Jordan of Pueblo, CO.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mrs. Betty Hoffman will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Roy Duffey officiating.
